As class sizes grow and budgets shrink, many instructors are turning to technology to facilitate different aspects of their classes. Between January and April, Academic Technology will offer a wide range of workshops related to digitizing files for your class(es), putting parts or all of your class(es) online, using different tools (e.g., iLearn, ePortfolios, DIVA, Turnitin), and more. Teachers, have you ever wanted to take a workshop on getting starting with iLearn, but have been unable to attend because you haven't found one at a convenient time? Have you wanted to do a more self-paced tutorial on iLearn, or just simply wanted to have all of the startup materials right at your finger tips?

Academic Technology is proud to present our first online iLearn workshop, the iLearn start up kit! If you are a staff or faculty member and would like to be registered for this workshop, you can go to our workshop registration page to sign up. As soon as we get your information, we'll be able to enroll you in the workshop on iLearn, and you can get started right away.

Academic Technology invites Faculty and Staff to the upcoming Academic Technology Workshops

Starting August and throughout the Fall 2009 semester, AT is offering workshops related to using technology in physical and virtual environments. The topics range from making a teaching-with-technology plan to using technology for collaboration, coursework, and research. All SF State faculty and staff are welcome to attend AT workshops free-of-charge.

Prepare your iLearn environment and online course materials for the Summer 2009 semester! iLearn is the official learning management system (LMS) of SF State. Use iLearn to enhance student online learning and collaboration. iLearn workshops will help participants develop an online component for their course, either to supplement face-to-face delivery, for hybrid delivery, or for complete online delivery.

Upcoming workshops include:

  • iLearn Start Up Kit
  • iLearn Forums: Create and Facilitate Online Class Discussions
  • iLearn Assignments: Provide Students Feedback on Work They Submit
  • iLearn Quizzes

The workshops are free-of-charge to SF State faculty and staff.
